About Me

Keeping Your Septic System Healthy

When I purchased a home on the outskirts of town, I was pretty nervous about using a septic system. I imagined muddy, sewage-filled landscaping and toilets that wouldn't flush. However, after I did a little research, I realized that septic care is easy if you stay on top of it. The purpose of my blog is to help others to understand the intricacies of caring for their septic systems, so that you can tackle problems early. With a little attention and maintenance, your septic tank can plug along problem free for many years to come. Save this blog as a resource so that you aren't left guessing later.

Making Portable Restrooms Favorable during an Outdoor Event

by Cathy Lewis

If you are holding an outdoor event at your business in the near future, consider renting portable restrooms to accommodate several guests. There are many benefits to using toilet rentals, including that you won't have people looking for restrooms to use within your building. Here are some ways you can make portable restrooms favorable so guests have a positive experience using them during the event.

Consider the Placement

Place restrooms far enough away from the activities you are holding at the event that they are not a distraction to guests. Put up a sign or two with an arrow pointing the way to the facilities so guests do not need to ask around to find out where they are located. Placing them in the general proximity of food and drink stands is a good idea as many people will take a break from activities to refuel and relieve themselves before going back to the action of the event. However, don't put them so close that distracting smells might waft over to the food area and spoil appetites.

Place a few benches nearby so people waiting to use the restrooms will not need to stand while doing so. It is also a good idea to place a few garbage receptacles nearby as well to cut down on the refuse inside the portable restroom itself.

Add a Few Extras

To make portable restrooms a bit more tolerable, add a few features that will be appreciated by those using them. Place a basket full of lotions, fragrant soaps, and sample-sized colognes and perfumes on the sink in each facility. Guests will enjoy using these freebies to freshen themselves after using the restroom, while leaving behind a pleasing scent for whoever happens to go into the restroom next. Fresh cut floral arrangements can be placed into vases and put on sinks or tables or in large vases in corners of the restrooms to make them feel a bit more homey overall.

Consider Upgraded Facilities

If the event you are holding is one in upper-scale proportions, and you wish to make a positive impression on visitors, consider using portable restrooms that have several amenities added to show your professionalism. Classy bathrooms include separate sitting rooms with plush chairs and tables to hold magazines while guests need a break from the action or if they are waiting for someone else while they use the facilities. They also have running water and electricity, allowing soft lighting and music that can be pumped through speakers in the facility. There is usually plenty of counter space and mirrors included, as well.
